3 Day Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Experience
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park
We meet at your Hotel Kigali International airport and depart for Nyungwe forest National Park along the way we will visit Nyanza, the former Mwami’s (Kings) palace and seats of the federal monarchy as well as the National museum at Butare one of the finest ethnographic museum in east Africa. Time permitting; we will enjoy a performance of the Uranguzi group of Intore- dancers. After lunch, we will continue going south to Nyungwe Forest National park. Nyungwe activities include tracking colobus monkeys, chips, nature walks in the forest and the stunning canopy walks Acomodation is on full board at one of the following, Nyungwe Forest lodge (up market), Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange), Gisakura events house (B).
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park
Today we set off into the forest very early in the morning to track chimpanzees. It is well worth the early start as you have the best opportunity to encounter human kind’s closest living relatives. You may also option for an alternative guided walk to see other primates, or enjoy a hike on one or more of the well maintained forest trails. In the afternoon, you return to your lodge for lunch and go for the conopy walk. Thereafter, go for your dinner and overnight at either Nyungwe Forest lodge (up market), Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (Midrange), Gisakura guest house (B).
Day 3: Depart From Nyungwe Forest National Park To Kigali
After breakfast we say goodbye to the Nyungwe area and return to Kigali for a city tour to include a visit to the genocide memorial center at Gisozi as well as the local raft market and later drop off at the airport or hotel of your choice in Kigali.
