Day 1: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park.

This morning, we drive comfortably for 5-6 hours to Kibale forest National park home to chimpanzees, human kind closest relatives. Kibale is the only place in Uganda with a 98% guarantee of encountering chimps in the wild. The park also boasts the highest concentration of primates than any other park in the world. It is also called ‘The Primates Capital of the World”. We’ll enjoy a lunch of traditional Uganda dishes in Fort Portal and later proceed to your accommodation for relaxation /dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation at Kyaniga lodge/ Primate Lodge, /Kibale Forest Camp.

 

Day 2: Chimpanzees Tracking In Kibale Forest National Park.

After breakfast, we transfer to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 8h00 for briefing before tracking the Chimps; you will have a 98% chance of encountering these wild chimps in their habituated troops. Aside from the chimps, the incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates including the rare L’Host monkey, red colubus monkey, blue monkey, Grey Mangabey, Pottos, Baboons and Bush babies. A network of shady forest trails provides much to delight botanists and butterfly lovers. While birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded including the endemic prirogrine’s ground thrush. The elusive forest elephant, smaller and more hairy than its savannah counterpart and other terrestrial Mammals including Giant Forest Hog, Buffalo, Antelopes species. In the afternoon, a walk in the Bigodi wet land, home to a variety of birds and monkey species. Return to your accommodation for dinner/ overnight.

Day 3: Kibale Forest National Park to Bwindi Impenetrate National Park.

After breakfast, we depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through one of Ugandans most scenic drives to the remote homes of the endangered mountain Gorillas. Prepare for tracking the magnificent mountain gorillas. Be sure to bring a pair of good walking shoes and rain jacket as it can rain any time of the year in areas around Bwindi. Accommodation on full board at Mahogany Springs/ Silverback Lodge/ Buhoma Community Camp.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will travel with your guide, to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for briefing at 8h00 before you set off into the impenetrable forest to search for the gentle giants. Tracking gorillas can range from a relatively easy to most challenging hill park. Officials assign guests for the best experience possible based on fitness and comfort levels. Getting to these great apes can take 2– 9 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas; you will take packed lunch and sufficient water for the hike. The work is well worth it once you encounter these magnificent relatives of human kind. No wildlife experience in the world compares. After tracking, and time allowing, you can enjoy a leisurely walk through a local village to experience the traditional Uganda way of life. Enjoy a relaxing evening, dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala.

After Breakfast, we will drive back to Kampala. The journey takes us through the rolling hills of South Western Uganda with ever green grass covering the hills. We shall stop over at the Equator for photos and refreshments and visit a craft market en route to Kampala.
