Kidepo Valley National Park is located on Uganda’s border with Sudan and Kenya in the extreme corner in the Northeast of the country. The park comprises of rolling savannah grassland and rugged spectacular mountain landscape. The park is accessible by road or by Air from Entebbe. Kidepo is considered one of the wildest, original African parks in Africa, offering a great experience of nature and game viewing.
Day 1: Departure To Kidepo Valley National Park
You will be transferred early in the morning a to kidepo National park, with a stopover at ziwa rhino sanctuary to see the rhinos, then proceed and have lunch in Gulu town. After lunch, we shall proceed to Kitgum town for our dinner and overnight stay at Hotel De Carlos.
Day 2: Game Drive
After an early breakfast, drive to Kidepo valley national park which is just 135km; check in at Apoka safari lodge to cool off the exhaustion. After lunch, enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from the verandah of the lodge. An evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game Viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson's Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Lodge.
Day 3: Game Drive and Community Walk.
Have breakfast; go for morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamajong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game Viewing and Relaxation.
Another day to enjoy wildlife and African landscape in Kidepo. You may visit the remains of Katurum lodge in the afternoon and have a game walk to see herds of buffaloes, lions, hyenas, and much bird species.Full board accommodation in Apoka Lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Siipi Falls
After breakfast, leave early morning for Siipi falls via Moroto to see the manyattas ( traditional houses for Karamajongs and also enjoy the dry rivers in the area as well as mout Moroto view.Have lunch in Moroto, before proceeding to check in at Locam lodge siipi for dinner and over night.
Day 6: Visit Siipi Waterfalls.
After breakfast, visit the wonderful waterfalls of Siipi to catch a clear view of the scenic beauty of the area. Transfer to Mbale for lunch and return to Kampala or Entebbe air port your departure flight
